DELUXE TEXAS RANGER FRAME SET: Our classic peacemaker pistol with star on wood grips is mounted on our stained wood frame. Working action which allows you to cock the hammer, spin the cylinder and operate the shell ejector. Complete with authentic replica silver Texas Ranger badge, reproduction photo of Texas Rangers and brass identification plaque. Frame size: 15" X 7" . TEXAS RANGERSIn 1820, Steven F. Austin (the father of Texas), received permission from the Mexican government for 300 families to enter the territory of Texas. By 1823, it became apparent that a force had to be created to protect the settlers from hostile forces. On August 10, 1823 Austin received permission from the Mexican government to employ ten men, all volunteers, to protect the Texas frontier. Thus, the Texas Rangers were born. They "ranged" over the vast expanse of Texas. 1835 saw 25 men forming one Ranger Company. The Ranger's primary concern was to protect against hostile Indians, as well as outlaws and Mexican bandits.
